James Heard


James has a wide range of experience assisting clients in the effective resolution of civil disputes.  He has advised and represented clients from the Tenancy Tribunal through to the New Zealand Supreme Court.  He also has significant experience in alternative dispute resolution because he appreciates that there is often significant benefit to clients in resolving disputes before they reach the courts.

  • Lead counsel in the Court of Appeal arguing issues of jurisdiction
  • Successfully negotiated the resolution of leaky building claims, lawyer negligence claims, liquidation proceedings, and contractual disputes
