Emily Ferguson

Emily has a strong interest in maritime law. During the final year of her LLB she interned at a global law firm in the Shipping and Trade team, before working for a boutique insurance law firm specialising in litigated earthquake claims. Admitted to the bar in 2017, Emily is a member of the New Zealand Law Society Auckland Young Lawyers. She assists in advising on earthquake policy response issues and is part of the firm’s marine team, where she assists in cargo claims and recoveries.

When not at work she can be found enjoying the great outdoors, tramping, horse-riding and dabbling in photography. Passionate about cooking and food – Emily particularly enjoys Asian cuisine from her time spent living in Japan and South Korea.

One of Emily’s proudest achievements is completing Outward Bound and she is currently aiming to complete all of New Zealand’s ‘Great Walks’.
