Jacob Neville-Smith

Associate

Jacob joined McElroys in November 2021 from a small litigation firm specialising in building defect claims and unit title disputes, where he spent the first two years of his legal career.

Jacob has a keen interest in problem solving and dispute resolution. He remains passionate about building defect and unit title law, but thrives on the variety of work which insurance law provides. He is particularly interested in maritime law, which is driven by his passion for freediving and anything on or under the water.

Jacob has degrees in both Law and Arts (Politics and International Relations) at the University of Auckland, and was admitted to the bar in 2020. Outside of work, as well as freediving, Jacob is an avid hunter and a classic car enthusiast.
