Tanya Preston


Tanya is responsible for McElroys’ litigation support team and has an in depth knowledge of process and protocol for discovery and e-discovery projects. She is also part of the firm’s Marine team, where she assists in cargo claims and recoveries for both local and international clients.

Tanya passed the UK bar and was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn in 2012 as a barrister. She worked for a boutique litigation firm and an immigration practice prior to arriving in New Zealand. Tanya is now undertaking studies to be admitted as a Solicitor in New Zealand.

She is passionate about being a positive female role model and was one of the first female scouts in the UK. Tanya more recently volunteered her time on her weekends to go hiking and camping with young scouts from a wide range of upbringings and socio-economic backgrounds.

As a newcomer to New Zealand Tanya enjoys exploring all that New Zealand has to offer, in particular hiking, scuba diving and kayaking. She is passionate about water sports and travelling and loves spending time outdoors with family and friends.
