- Construction and property disputes, including advising on indemnity issues under contract works or contractors all risk policies (including defending insurers in litigated indemnity claims), defending insured contractors and subcontractors in technical construction disputes, pursuing subrogated recoveries against other parties in the contractual chain, and acting in construction adjudication claims.
As an insurance litigator, he has also worked across a range of other lines of business, such as aviation and energy.
Before joining McElroys, he spent three years in London in the Property, Energy and Construction insurance team at an international law firm, before which he worked in the commercial litigation team at a major New Zealand law firm.
He is a member of MLAANZ, and a previous winner of the Society of Construction Law’s essay prize competition.
